The Coyote Brown Trailgrip runs true to size for most wearers. If you're between sizes or have a wider foot, we recommend sizing up or selecting the Wide width. Are the Coyote Brown Reebok Trailgrip Tactical boots waterproof?

What's the Coyote Brown Trailgrip built for?

The Trailgrip is the most rugged boot in Reebok's tactical lineup. The 8-inch shaft provides higher ankle support than a 6-inch boot, which is useful under load or on uneven terrain. Do they need breaking in?

The Trailgrip uses a leather and ballistic nylon upper, so expect a short break-in period of typically 1 to 2 weeks of regular wear. This is faster than a full-leather duty boot but longer than the all-synthetic Nano X1. The MemoryTech removable memory foam footbed accelerates the process by moulding to your foot.

Can I wear the Coyote Brown Trailgrip Tactical boots on duty?

The Coyote Brown Trailgrip is built to professional-grade specifications with an Electrical Hazard (EH) rating and slip-resistant outsoles certified to ASTM F3445. Because of the coyote brown colourway, duty use is more limited than an all-black boot:

• Police: Most Australian state police forces require all-black duty footwear. Coyote brown boots will generally not meet uniform standards. If you need a duty boot for police work, choose an all-black alternative.
• ADF: The ADF operates from a specific approved boots list. Reebok Trailgrip boots are not currently on the ADF approved list for combat wear, but coyote brown is an accepted colour for training, PT, and field use where footwear rules are more flexible. Confirm with your chain of command.
• Security and corrections: Typically require all-black footwear. Check with your employer before purchasing.

Is the side zipper durable, or is it a weak point?

The Trailgrip uses a YKK® side zipper, the industry standard for tactical boot zippers. YKK zippers are rated for significantly higher cycle counts than generic alternatives and are what most professional-grade brands specify. With normal care, the zipper will outlast the sole.

What's the difference between the Trailgrip, Nano X1 Adventure, and Hyperium?

The Trailgrip is the most rugged: 8" height, stability bar, aggressive outsole lugs, built for rough terrain and outdoor use. The Nano X1 is training-derived: lighter, more agile, built for fast movement and gym-to-duty crossover. Is the Trailgrip heavy compared to the Nano X1?

Yes, slightly. The Trailgrip's 8" height, leather-and-ballistic-nylon upper, and aggressive outsole make it heavier than the 6" Nano X1, but it's still lightweight compared to traditional leather combat boots. The trade-off is support and durability: if you're on rough terrain or under load, the Trailgrip's extra weight earns its keep.
