Description

Worn by public safety personnel, the 5.11 A.T.A.C. 2.0 8-inch side-zip tactical boot is a lighter, more comfortable evolution of a boot trusted across law enforcement and security roles. Whether it's a full patrol shift, a fast-moving callout, or hours on your feet, this boot is built to keep pace without adding bulk. The full-grain suede toe, 840D nylon upper, and Shock Mitigation System deliver rugged protection, while a knife pocket keeps an important tool within easy reach.

Underfoot, the full-length dual durometer Ortholite footbed and Ortholite Achilles cuff work together for comfort and flexibility through long shifts. The Achilles flex zone adds range of motion at a critical part of the foot without compromising support, and an air flow tongue helps keep feet cool and dry all day. Strobel construction keeps the overall build lighter, and a slip and oil-resistant outsole adds traction across mixed surfaces. Runs true to size - consider going up a half size with thicker duty socks.

Its always hard to review a product when you really haven't had a chance to truly test it. But after a few weeks of ownership and only wearing them 4 times. Very comfortable so far, The fit is true and firm on the feet. However, the fourth time I put them on and snugged up the laces, the left boot inside eyelet tore out. looks like the riveting had given way. To say I was disappointed is a moot point. My last boots stayed with me for 14 years (Not 5.11) I would have embraced the same, alas they're no longer made. So, after much deliberation I went with the 5.11 ... hopefully just a manufacturing fault, and not the expectancy of the quality to come. At this point, until they prove themselves for longevity, I'd be giving them a single star. However, 5.11 - TACSOURCE saved your ass. I specifically made a special trip to Brisbane to get the boots replaced. A young gentle man started talking to me about taking photos and getting authorisation to replace them under warranty. which would take several days and then if it's approved I could come back and pick them up. My frustration apparent, an older, though still young man (by my age) stepped in. (duly noted) His impeccable manners and service attitude. Explained due to the amount of unscrupulous charlatans that try to take liberties, these policies are in place. While we were talking he sorted through the boxes of shoes. handing me a box, he clarified the style, color, and size. and apologised for the inconvenience. He shook my hand and bid me a fine day. One cannot fault Tacsource for their customer support and service. you have earned my patronage and thanks for a most appreciated customer experience which unfortunately, is sadly lacking in many places today.
